Name
Yuanqing Zhang M.S.
Yuanqing joined Li lab at March in 2022. She completed her master degree in biomedical engineering at Zhejiang University, where she investigated the auditory perception of awake marmoset using in vivo electrophysiology. Marmosets are among only a handful of non-human primates that, like humans, routinely pair bond and care cooperatively for their young. However, it is entirely unknown how the marmoset distinguishes their partners with other individuals of opposite-sex and generate different behavioral and emotional responses. Therefore, Yuanqing is particularly interested in developing microendoscope-based calcium imaging approaches to study the neural mechanism of social recognition in freely behaving marmosets.

Name
Wei Li, M.S.
Wei Li, PhD Candidate in Neuroscience, Peking University (Starting 2023). Research Focus: The Neural Mechanisms of Adaptive Social Behavior.Wei Li's research aims to decipher the neural circuitry and computational principles that enable adaptive social behavior. In our complex social world, the ability to flexibly adjust one's behavior—shifting from infanticidal to parental, or regulating emotional responses—is crucial for survival and well-being. Wei is passionate about understanding how the brain, as a dynamic system, supports this behavioral flexibility.
